About our Academy

Primrose Hill Church of England Primary Academy is a member of the Diocese of Gloucester Academies Trust (DGAT).  We are an inclusive school with children from a wide range of socio-economic backgrounds, and with a variety of Special Educational Needs. Pupils have a School Council with elected pupil members who meet regularly. Other older children are given a variety of opportunities to take on responsibilities such as lunchtime ‘buddies’ for the Infants.

Our admission policy gives priority to children living within the local area or with siblings at Primrose Hill. We aim to admit children wherever possible however. We are proud to have a strong community ethos and good relationships with parents.

We believe that a child’s entry to school and their first year or so are vitally important in developing a good attitude to self, others and learning, and have invested much in our Foundation Stage provision including a designated outdoor area that children can use to learn in all weathers.

Primrose Hill Academy has also enjoyed close links with a number of schools across the length and breadth of Europe, sharing good practice and children’s work with our partners.

'Forest Schools' provide a range of outdoor experiences for our younger children and give them the opportunity to work together and make decisions. We have also enjoyed links with the Forestry Commission in the setting up of an existing area of local woodland as a school resource for older pupils.

We have a committed Friends organisation and we are always looking at ways of extending our links with the wider community. The Governors of Primrose Hill are very supportive and many are regularly seen in and around the school. We offer a wide range of extra-curricular activities to the children.

We continue to look to the future whilst building upon the strengths of the past.

As an academy, which opened on October 1st 2013, there has been no Ofsted inspection or report to make available.  The school was last inspected in May 2013 as a Local Authority school.  The Annual Report, audited accounts, Memorandum of Association, Articles of Association, names of charity trustees and members, and the funding agreement can be found on the Diocese of Gloucester Academy Trusts's website.
