How is progress measured?

From September 2014 levels are no longer used to report pupil attainment.  All pupils at the Academy will be assessed using Bands and Steps, for example a Year 3 pupil may be achieving Band 3 secure, or a Year 6 pupil Band 6 below. Pupils are expected at the end of each year to be working well within the appropriate curriculum or Mastering if working at the higher end.   Progress is measured against the entry point for the Year group and attainment at the end. This attainment is reported as working below, working at or working above expected levels.  Pupils are not expected to be working within the next year's curriculum, but be mastering the whole of the relevant year's curriculum.

Year 1 Phonics Screening Check

There were 30 pupils in the cohort. Of these, 27 passed the Phonics screening test.  This equates to an 91% pass rate, compared to 42% in 2012, 80% in 2013, 94% in 2014 and 93% in 2015.  The national average pass rate was 77% in 2016.
