Around the world!

This term our topic work will have a Geography focus through the theme 'CITIZEN'. We will be enabling the children to learn about their locality and beyond, thinking about their place in the local, national and global community. The key word driving this term's work is 'DISCOVERY'.

Year 1 children will be learning about the locality of Lydney and the Forest of Dean.

Year 2 children will be looking at the busy city of Gloucester.

Spring Term 2017

Healthy Me!

Spring term is a Science focus under the theme 'CHOICES'. The word powering our term's work is 'POWER' provinding the children with information to make life choices.

We will be monitoring our health and fitness over the term and ending the topic with a whole school House skills competition day.

Autumn Term 2016

Autumn term brings a history topic focus under the theme of 'CURIOSITY'. We will be looking at changes in history and how these have affected us all today.

Year 1 in the Autumn term are travelling back in time to learn about the changes in travel and transport. Click here for a theme overview.

2015-2016

In the Autumn Term, Year 1  learnt about the history of british monarchs and life and times in castles.  Click here for an overview.

In the Spring term we are learning all about Julia Donaldson. We enjoyed listening to her rhyming stories and songs at the Cheltenham Literature Festival last term. We are using her stories as an inspiration for our writing.

In the Summer term we are following the whole school science theme of life cycles and plants. We will be busy planting and growing on our community day and enjoying wacthing the life cycle of our very own live chicks!
