Art Activity - Pointillism fall leaf art

Pointillism is a fun painting technique that is also great for working on fine motor skills.  It is a technique of painting in which small, distinct dots of colour are applied in patterns to form an image.  Georges Seurat developed the technique in 1886, branching from impressionism.  Here is some of his work:

You might want to try some pointillism leaf art;

1 - find some leaves of different shapes and sizes.

2 - draw around the leaves on some paper.

3 - Use a cotton bud dipped in paint to draw the outline and veins of the leaf

4 - Layer different coloured dots on top of the main leaf

5 - finish off by adding dots to the background

You can be as creative as you like. Please send in your finished pictures so we can see them all!
