We are delighted you are considering our Academy for your child’s education.
Primrose Hill C of E Primary Academy is an inclusive academy. Our admission policy does not discriminate on the grounds of ability, special educational needs, disabilities or any other criteria.
Admissions to our school are run by Gloucestershire County Council, but the Academy Trust is the admissions authority. From September 2019, our admission number for each year group is 30. When this has been reached then you can still apply for a place but this will have to go to appeal which is run by Gloucestershire County Council. To get the latest advice on admissions visit the Gloucestershire County Council website below or alternatively phone us at school.
There are two types of admissions and both are described below:
1) Applying for a Reception Place for September 2024
From November 2023 letters will be sent out to parents of children due to start school in September 2024. If you do not receive a letter please contact the Co-ordinated Admissions Team at Gloucester County Council. Applications can be made between 3rd November 2023 and 15th January 2024.
The closing date for applying for a Reception place is 15th January 2024. You will need to apply online using the website above. The Local Authority look at the schools you have put as a preference and see if they can offer you a place at any of them. Places will be offered on 16th April 2024. The closing date for the return of reply forms accepting the Academy place or requesting reconsideration is 23rd April 2024. After 14th May 2024 letters will be sent out advising the outcome of waiting list requests and 21st May 2024 is the closing date for the return of reply forms. Appeals will be heard during June and July 2024.
2) Applying for a place during the school year
If you move to the area during the school year or your child needs to move school for other reasons you will need to apply for a school place by contacting the Academy or completing an in-year application form and sending it into the Academy. A form can be found here.
The Diocese of Gloucester Academies Trust (DGAT), acting in its role as admission authority of the school, is currently determining proposed admission arrangements for admissions to the school in September 2025. As determined by the School Admissions Code, the Trust is required to consult on these arrangements and invites comments on the proposed changes.
A copy of the proposed admissions policy is available on the DGAT website for your information.
Alternatively, if you require a hard copy of the policy please contact Nicki Wadley, the Trust’s head of governance and people directly at firstname.lastname@example.org with ‘Admissions Policy Comments’ as the email title.
